F. Sengpiel Patent Padlock #8 - Size "B"

F. Sengpiel Patent Padlock -- This is an exhibit of three padlocks all approximately the same size and all stamped "8".  The first lock shown has a chain and a very clear, distinct number stamping and white metal dustcover. It may be slightly newer (1920-40). The other two padlocks may be older models as evidenced by the brass dustcover, the well worn number (8) stamping, and, for one,  the two piece, handmade, folded-barrel key. I have shown an enlargement of the two locks with faint numbers. Picture #7 shows 2 nearly identical size "B" , #8 stamped padlocks.  On both locks I added a bit of red paint to enhance the numbers. The  3 padlocks definitely were not mass-produced. As a result, if you compare the sizes, the overall body  varies in length from 9.5 to 10 cm.  The width varies from 6.7 to 6.9 cm.
